Medical Qigong is the Energics branch of the five branches of TCM. It can be incorporated into an acupuncture treatment or a patient can choose to have a separate Medical Qigong treatment. Medical Qigong treatments include both table work and learning of Qigong exercises to help extend the treatment. The table work is applied through touching and non-touching methods and works to rebalance energetic dysfunction. The Qigong exercises incorporate special methods of breathing, posture, and mental concentration to purge and detoxify, to tone and strengthen, and regulate and rebalance.
