It’s hard to believe that August is almost over, and that fall is just around the corner. I’ve recently returned from a 140 mile backpacking trip on the PCT with my good friend Donna, and before that, a few other backpacking trips. It’s not easy sometimes to return to reality after sleeping under the stars for so many days and being surrounded by nothing but wilderness and nature. Although I’m fortunate, because the transition back to every day life is easier for me, being surrounded by a beautiful array of clients and a really nice office within a yoga and wellness center (Namaste in Truckee).
One of the backpacking trips that I’ve been on this month was a three day backpacking, yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation retreat that I co-led with Emily Williams (Awaken to the Wisdom of Nature). We had a group of 10 really amazing men and women join us, absolutely perfect weather, an ideal camping spot on our own private lake, and the best granite to practice yoga and Qi Gong on with a view of the lake. It’s easier to share the experience with photos, rather than words, posted below. Stay tuned, because this certainly is just the first backpacking retreat of many more that I will be involved in!
